Carey Jacobs is based in our Basildon office. She graduated with a degree in law from the University of Kent at Canterbury. She trained with Palmers Solicitors and was admitted in October 1997, becoming a partner in 2001 and a director in 2021.
Having practised in residential and commercial property since qualification, Carey specialises in commercial property law and in law firm management.
Carey deals with matters of particular complexity, including challenging site assembly work for developers, conditional contracts and overage agreements. As a commercial property solicitor, she specialises in the negotiation of complex leases, commercial property contracts, guarantees and ancillary documentation, as well as the investigation of title, consideration and analysis of search results and enquiries.
Carey acts for a wide range of clients, including educational institutions, charities, developers, investor landlords and commercial tenants.
For the last 15 years, Carey has enjoyed playing a role in the community as a governor at her old secondary school in Thurrock, which she finds extremely challenging and rewarding. In the business community, she runs the BASS (Bankers, Accountants, Surveyors and Solicitors) networking events at Basildon.
